What I liked in this class was that we used clay to make different sculptures. I liked how we were able to get on the wheel and throw some objects. I also liked how we made different sculptures by different techniques. We also carved certain things into our sculptures which was fun to do. Another thing I liked about this class was that it wasn't hard learning the techniques to making and carving sculptures.
What I learned was how to make clay sculptures. I also learned how to carve them and how to load and start the kilm. I learned how to throw clay on the wheel and how to center the clay on the wheel as well. I learned how to rise the clay on the wheel to make the sculpture taller and skinnier. I also learned how to add, subtract, coil, and slab clay together.
What I would do better would be practice more on the wheel. I think if I had more practice on the wheel some of my sculptures would have been better than they were. I couldn't get my clay centered on the wheel so it would turn out with one side thicker than the other side. I also had trouble getting the clay to move to where I wanted it to move. When I tried to force it where I wanted it, it would either collapse or break apart.
